3.6.5. Domain verification and Gmail activation in Google Workspace (G Suite)

Attention!

The domain must be served on our NS. If the domain is served on third-party NS, the actions need to be performed not with us, but in the panel of their owner.

Use presets from the group "Google → Google Workspace (formerly G Suite)".

Create TXT Record (Recommended)

  1. V google admin console choose a confirmation method by creating a TXT record and get a generated unique TXT record:
  2. Add a new entry in the domain settings as follows:
    • "Subdomain" - leave the field blank.
    • "Type" - select "TXT".
    • "Data" — insert the received TXT record.
When confirming a subdomain, if no one has been created for it A and AAAA records instead of which is used wildcard record, adding TXT record will break it. It should additionally add A and AAAA records for the subdomain.
  3. In the Google Admin Console, at the bottom of the post data page, click "CONFIRM DOMAIN".
  4. Wait for the update DNS cache. This usually takes from a few minutes to several hours (maximum 24).

Creating a CNAME record

  1. V google admin console choose a confirmation method by creating a CNAME record and get the details of the generated unique CNAME record:
  2. Add a new entry in the domain settings as follows:
    • "Subdomain" - paste the contents of the field "CNAME Record Label / Host" of the received CNAME record.
    • "Type" - select "CNAME".
    • "Data" — paste the contents of the field "Purpose / Purpose of CNAME Record" of the received CNAME record.
  3. In the Google Admin Console, at the bottom of the post data page, click "CONFIRM DOMAIN".
  4. Wait for the update DNS cache. This usually takes from a few minutes to several hours (maximum 24).

Attention!

After setting up Google MX records, incoming mail will no longer be sent to our mail servers - it will be accepted by Google mail servers.
  1. V google admin console create all required mailboxes for your domain.
  2. Install Google MX records in domain settings.
  3. If domain ownership has not been verified, verify it:
    • Or in any of the ways described above.
    • Or using an MX record:
      1. In the google admin console, get the generated unique MX record (ends with mx-verification.google.com).
      2. Add a new entry in the domain settings as follows:
        • "Subdomain" - leave the field blank.
        • "Type" - select "MX".
        • "Priority" - specify 15.
        • "Data" — insert the resulting MX record.
