3.6.7. Setting up a domain for Zoho Mail

Attention!

The domain must be served on our NS. If the domain is served on third-party NS, the actions need to be performed not with us, but in the panel of their owner.

Use presets from the group "Zoho".

Zoho is an online service that provides its own mail service. For it to work correctly, you need to configure the domain — confirm it, direct it to Zoho MX records, and create SPF and DKIM records.

  1. Login or create a Zoho account.
  2. Go to the app "Mail" in general list of applications:
  3. Near the field "Add an existing domain" click "Add now»:
  4. Enter the domain name and click "Add to»:
  5. After adding the domain, click on the button "Go to domain verification" and confirm the domain in one of the following ways:
  6. Add users and create groups if required.
  7. To start accepting letters to mailboxes hosted in the Zoho service, you need to change the MX records of the domain. Important: after changing MX records, letters will stop arriving at mailboxeshosted on our hosting. Install MX records offered by the service, wait for the update DNS cache. This usually takes several hours (maximum 24). Then press "Verify MX records»... The required MX records will be displayed on the page as a table:
  8. Add SPF record with the following data:
    • "Subdomain" — if a subdomain was added to the Zoho service, then indicate its name; if the service is planned to be used for the main domain, indicate the symbol @.
    • "Type" — select "TXT".
    • "Data" — insert data from the field "TXT value". If you plan to send letters from our servers, then before ~all add text include:_spf.ukraine.com.ua.
    • Wait for the update DNS cache. This usually takes several hours (maximum 24). Then press "Check SPF record" or check later.
  9. Add DKIM record with the following data:
    • "Subdomain" — specify as subdomain zmail._domainkeyif a subdomain has been added to the service, then the selector name should be added at the end with the subdomain name.
    • "Type" — select "TXT".
    • "Data" — insert data from the field "TXT value".
    • Wait for the update DNS cache. This usually takes several hours (maximum 24). Then press "Check DKIM entry" or check later.
  10. Make the rest of the service settings.
  1. Select confirmation method "TXT" and copy the value from the field "Meaning / Indicates / Purpose»:
  2. Add a new record with the following data:
    • "Subdomain" — if a subdomain was added, then indicate its name in this field, if the service is planned to be used for the main domain — indicate the symbol @.
    • "Type" — select "TXT".
    • "Data" — paste the copied data.
  3. Wait for the update DNS cache. This usually takes several hours (maximum 24). Then press "Check TXT record".
  1. Select confirmation method "CNAME" and use values from fields "Name/Host/Alias/CNAME" and "Meaning / Indicates / Purpose»:
  2. Add a new record with the following data:

    • "Type" — select "CNAME".
    • "Data" — paste the copied data from the field "Meaning / Indicates / Purpose".
  3. Wait for the update DNS cache. This usually takes several hours (maximum 24). Then press "Confirm with CNAME".

Attention!

To confirm the domain in this way, you must have access to the files on the server where the domain is directed, and a website that correctly processes requests must also work.
  1. Select confirmation method "HTML»:
  2. Download the file marked under the first link.
  3. Upload the file to root directory your site. This can be done with filemanager or any FTPclient.
  4. Check the availability of the file at the second link marked in the screenshot.
