2.13.10.10.1. Installing October

Warning!

The instruction is relevant only for versions 1.XX Since version 2.0.0, the October platform is paid and is installed only with Composer.

Manual installation

Before installation:

  1. Download from official site on your PC an archive with the distribution of the latest version of October.
  2. Place the distribution files on the hosting:
    1. Through filemanager or any FTPclient upload the archive to hosting in root directory preliminarily added site.
    2. Unpack downloaded archive with filemanager.
    3. Move the entire contents of the subdirectory install-master in root directory.
  3. Prepare the database:
    • If there is no free database, create new.
    • If there is an unused database, you can clear and use it.
  1. Open the site in a browser by adding to its address install.php (example - example.com/install.php).
  2. Step 1... Make sure that in the list of requirements there is a green checkmark next to all items, read the license and accept it by clicking "Agree & Continue".
  3. Step 2... Fill the form:
    1. Specify your database connection settings and click "Administrator >":
      • "Database Type" - leave "MySQL".
      • "MySQL Host" - instead of localhost indicate host (server) address databases.
      • "MySQL Port" - leave the standard port 3306.
      • "Database Name" — specify title Database.
      • "MySQL Login" — specify Username (login) Database.
      • "MySQL Password" — specify user password Database.
    2. Enter the administrator details (they will be used to access the site's admin panel) and click "Continue":
      • "First Name" — name.
      • "Last Name" — surname.
      • "Email Address" - mail.
      • "Admin Login" — login.
      • "Admin Password" and "Confirm Password" - password.
  4. Step 3... Click on the desired installation option:
    • "Start from scratch" — clean install without any plugins and themes.
    • "Start from a theme" — installation with one of the ready—made themes to choose from.
    • "Use a project ID" - installation of a finished project by its ID.
  5. Wait for the installation to complete.
  6. Make sure the files have been removed from the root directory of the site install.php, .girignore and subdirectory install_files... If they are still present, remove them yourself.
  7. Check the site is working.
