2.5.10. Database import

Before import:

  • Make sure the database you are importing is in the format sql... If the file is archived, unzip it.
  • Make sure there are no queries in the imported database like CREATE DATABASEsince databases can be create only through the control panel. If there are such requests, the lines with them must be removed from the file using any text editor (for example, Notepad++).
  • If the database to which the import will be performed has not yet been created in the control panel, create it.
  • Make sure there are no characters in the database user password #... If there are any, change password for a password without these characters.
  1. Change to the directory with the dump you want to import.
  2. Select the dump, right-click on it and select "Import database":
  3. Fill out the form and click "Import":
    • "Access login and database name" - select databasewhere you want to import the dump, and her username.
    • "Dump encoding" - leave "Do not specify encoding when importing" or select the desired encoding from the list.
    • "Continue importing data if an error occurs" - leave a check mark if you want the import not to stop if any errors occur.
    • "Clear database content before import" - leave the checkbox checked if the dump is to be imported into a cleaned database (all existing data from the selected database will be deleted).
