2.5.2.2.1.9. Enabling UTF-8 Enforcement for Filenames in FileZilla

The hosting uses the standard UTF-8 encoding. If the files have Cyrillic names or they contain symbols of other national alphabets, then when creating or loading such files using various FTPclients in some cases, there may be problems with displaying file names and accessing them. To avoid such problems, it is recommended to configure the FTP client to force the use of UTF-8. This is especially true when downloading files from devices running Windows.

  1. Open the section «File → Site Manager…»:
  2. In the tab «Encoding» set the switch opposite «UTF-8 forced» and press «Connect» or «OK»:
