2.24.2.11.3. Configuring the Evolution mail client (Linux)

  1. In the top menu, click "File → Create → Mail account":
  2. On the page "Welcome" click "Next":
  3. On the page "Account fill in the fields and click "Next":
    • "Full name" - enter your name in any form.
    • "Email" - specify mailbox name.
    • Additional information can be left blank.
    • "Find mail server data based on the entered email address. mail" — uncheck the box.
  4. On the page "Receiving mail" specify the settings for incoming mail and click "Next":
    • "Server type" — make sure it is selected "IMAP".
    • Setting:
      • "Server" - specify mail.adm.tools.
      • "Port" - make sure it is specified 993.
      • "Username" — specify full mailbox name.
    • Security:
      • "Encryption method" — make sure it is selected "TLS on a dedicated port".
    • Authentication:
      • Make sure the type is selected "Password".
  5. On the page "Receive parameters" specify the required parameters (you can leave it unchanged) and click "Next":
  6. On the page "Sending email mail" specify the outgoing mail settings and click "Next":
    • "Server type" — make sure it is selected "SMTP".
    • Setting:
      • "Server" - specify mail.adm.tools.
      • "Port" - make sure it is specified 465.
      • "Authentication required" — check the box.
    • Security:
      • "Encryption method" — make sure it is selected "TLS on a dedicated port".
    • Authentication:
      • "Type" — make sure it is selected "PLAIN".
      • "Username" — specify full mailbox name.
  7. On the page "Account Information" enter an arbitrary account name, check the correctness of personal data and click "Next":
  8. On the page "Done click "Apply":
  9. In the window that appears asking for authentication in the field "Password" indicate mailbox password (if you do not want to enter a password every time you connect to the server, make sure that the checkbox next to "Add this password to your keychain") and press "OK":
  10. In the main Evolution window, right-click on the added account and select "Properties":
  11. In chapter "Default" specify standard folders and click "OK":
    • "Folder for drafts" — instead of "On this computer / Drafts" choose "Incoming → Drafts" for your box.
    • "Sent messages folder" — make sure the checkbox is checked, and instead of "On this computer / Sent" choose "Incoming → Sent" for your box.
    • "Use real trash folder" — check the box and select "Incoming → Trash" for your box.
    • "Use real spam folder" — check the box and select "Incoming → Junk" for your box.
  12. Check your mail.
