2.24.2.10.4. Setting up the Evolution mail client (Linux)

  1. Click "File → Create a → Mail account" in the top menu:
  2. Click "Next" On the page "Welcome":
  3. Fill in the fields on the page "Account" and press "Next":
    • "Full name" - your name in free form.
    • "Email" — mailbox name.
    • Additional information can be left blank.
    • "Find mail server data based on the entered email address. mail" — disable.
  4. Specify incoming mail settings on the page "Receiving mail" and press "Next":
    • "Server type" — "IMAP".
    • Setting:
    • Security:
      • "Encryption method" — "TLS on a dedicated port".
    • Authentication:
      • Type "Password".
  5. Specify the desired parameters on the page "Receive parameters" (can be left unchanged) and press "Next":
  6. Specify outgoing mail settings on the page "Sending email mail" and press "Next":
    • "Server type" — "SMTP".
    • Setting:
      • "Server" — mail.adm.tools.
      • "Port" — 465.
      • "Authentication required" — turn it on.
    • Security:
      • "Encryption method" — "TLS on a dedicated port".
    • Authentication:
  7. Specify an arbitrary account name on the page "Account Information", check the correctness of the personal data and click "Next":
  8. Click "Apply" On the page "Done:
  9. In the window that appears asking for authentication, enter mailbox password in field "Password" (If you do not want to enter a password each time you connect to the server, enable "Add this password to your keychain") and press "OK":
  10. Right-click on the added account in the main window and select "Properties":
  11. Specify standard folders in the section "Default" and press "OK":
    • "Folder for drafts" — instead of "On this computer / Drafts" choose "Incoming → Drafts" for your box.
    • "Sent messages folder" — turn on and instead "On this computer / Sent" choose "Incoming → Sent" for your box.
    • "Use real trash folder" — turn on and select "Incoming → Trash" for your box.
    • "Use real spam folder" — turn on and select "Incoming → Junk" for your box.
  12. Check your mail.
