2.24.2.2.1. Configuring Thunderbird Mail Client

  1. From the main Thunderbird menu, click "Create → Set up my mail account…":
  2. Fill in the fields and click "Configure manually":
    • "Your full name" - enter your name in any form.
    • "Email address" - specify mailbox name. Warning! If the domain name contains symbols of the national alphabet, for example, Cyrillic, the name of the box must be convert to Punycode.
    • "Password" - specify mailbox password.
    • "Remember password" - make sure that the checkbox is checked if you do not want to enter a password every time you connect to the server.
  3. Fill in the fields and click "Retest", and then "Done":
    In order not to enter the settings manually each time, you can use autoconfiguration.
    • Incoming mail server:
      • "Protocol" — make sure it is selected "IMAP".
      • "Server name" - specify mail.adm.tools.
      • "Port" — specify 993.
      • "Connection protection" - select "SSL/TLS".
      • "Authentication method" - select "Regular password".
      • "Username" - indicate complete mailbox name or part of it before @.
    • Outgoing mail server:
      • "Server name" - specify mail.adm.tools.
      • "Port" — specify 465.
      • "Connection protection" - select "SSL/TLS".
      • "Authentication method" - select "Regular password".
      • "Username" - indicate complete mailbox name or part of it before @.
  4. In the main Thunderbird window, right-click on the added account and select "Options":
  5. In chapter "Server parameters" click "More…":
  6. In field "IMAP server directory" indicate INBOX. (with a dot) and press "OK":
  7. Restart Thunderbird and test your mail.

  6. In field "IMAP server directory" indicate INBOX. (with a dot) and press "OK":
  7. Restart Thunderbird and test your mail.

  3. Fill in the fields and click "Continue":
    • "Your name" - enter your name in any form.

  4. While searching for a configuration, click "Manual configuration":

  6. In the main Thunderbird window, right-click on the added account and select "Options":
  7. In chapter "Server parameters" Make sure that "Authentication method" selected "Regular password", and press "More…":
  8. In field "IMAP server directory" indicate INBOX. (with a dot) and press "OK":
  9. Restart Thunderbird and test your mail.
