2.24.2.3.1. Setting up the Thunderbird mail client

  1. Click "Create a → Set up my mail account…" in the main menu:
  2. Fill in the fields and click "Configure manually":
    • "Your full name" - your name in free form.
    • "Email address" — mailbox name. Attention! If the domain name contains symbols of the national alphabet, for example, Cyrillic, the name of the box must be convert to Punycode.
    • "Password" — mailbox password.
    • "Remember password" — enable if you do not want to enter a password each time you connect to the server.
  3. Specify settings and click "Retest", and then "Done":
    In order not to enter the settings manually each time, you can use autoconfiguration.
    • Incoming mail server:
      • "Protocol" — "IMAP".
      • "Server name" — mail.adm.tools.
      • "Port" — 993.
      • "Connection protection" — "SSL/TLS".
      • "Authentication method" — "Regular password".
      • "Username" - complete mailbox name or part of it before @.
    • Outgoing mail server:
      • "Server name" — mail.adm.tools.
      • "Port" — 465.
      • "Connection protection" — "SSL/TLS".
      • "Authentication method" — "Regular password".
      • "Username" - complete mailbox name or part of it before @.
  4. Right-click on the added account in the main window and select "Options":
  5. Click "More…" in section "Server parameters":
  6. Pleaseindicate INBOX. (with a dot) in the field "IMAP server directory" and press "OK":
  7. Restart Thunderbird and test your mail.
