2.18.1.3. Correct determination of the country by IP address

Unfortunately, some third-party services do not always work correctly by determining the country by IP-address. Such services can use old or free databases, which are updated later than their commercial versions.

One of the most popular providers of databases for determining the country by IP address is MaxMind... On their website page GeoIP2 Precision Service Demo you can check the correct IP addresses and find out which countries they belong to.

You can also determine the country by IP-address through the WHOIS service. You can specify the desired IP on the page «Network» our website and tab «Whois» see the alphabetic country code in the line opposite «country»:

A similar check can be performed through any WHOIS service (for example, whois.com or ripe.net).
