4.3.8.2. Set up Mail client (macOS)

  1. Launch the Mail app.
  2. In the top menu, select "Mail → Add Account":
  3. Select "Other Mail Account" and click "Continue":
  4. Enter the data of the account to be added and click "Sign In":
    • "Name" — your name in free form.
    • "Email Address" — full name of the mailbox.
    • "Password" — password of the mailbox.
  5. Specify your mailbox connection settings and click "Sign In":
    • "Email Address" — full name of the mailbox.
    • "User Name" — full name of the mailbox.
    • "Password" — password of the mailbox.
    • "Account Type" — "IMAP".
    • "Incoming Mail Server" — mail.adm.tools.
    • "Outgoing Mail Server" — mail.adm.tools.
  6. Select "Mail" and click "Done":
  7. In the top menu, select "Mail → Settings":
  8. In the "Accounts" section, select the added account on the left, switch to the "Server Settings" tab and click "Advanced IMAP Settings":
  9. Specify advanced IMAP settings and click "OK":
    • "IMAP Path Prefix" — INBOX (without the dot at the end).
    • "Allow insecure authentication" — enabled (if the option is disabled after saving the settings, but emails are successfully received and sent, leave it disabled).
  10. Disable the "Automatically manage connection settings" options, specify the settings manually and click "Save":
    • Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):
      • "Port" — 993.
      • "Use TLS/SSL" — enabled.
      • "Authentication" — "Password".
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
      • "Port" — 465.
      • "Use TLS/SSL" — enabled.
      • "Authentication" — "Password".
  11. Switch to the "Mailbox Behaviors" tab and for the main folders, select the standard folders with "INBOX" at the beginning:
    • "Drafts Mailbox" — "INBOX/Drafts".
    • "Sent Mailbox" — "INBOX/Sent".
    • "Junk Mailbox" — "INBOX/Junk".
    • "Trash Mailbox" — "INBOX/Trash".
    • "Archive Mailbox" — "INBOX/Archive".
  12. Check the mail operation.
