4.8.8. Error "Maximum number of connections from user+IP exceeded"

Error "Maximum number of connections from user+IP exceeded (mail_max_userip_connections=40)" occurs if per minute is established:

  • More than 40 connections to mailbox regardless of IP address.
  • Or more than 40 connections to the mail server from one IP.

To resolve the situation, you should find out what exactly can create these connections (what script or software) and reduce their number.
