4.3.1.10. Avatars in WebMail.Online
Images
In WebMail.Online, the sender's email avatar is loaded when the message is opened.
The avatar is taken from external services. The avatar search is performed in the following order: Gravatar > Brandfetch > Logo.dev > apistemic logos > domain favicon via Google API. The first avatar found for the mailbox is selected.
The obtained avatar is cached in our system for 7 days, and when the avatar is displayed in the WebMail.Online interface, it is cached in the browser for 3 days.
Display of avatars can be disabled in the WebMail.Online settings.
Letters
Letter-based avatars are used when there is no image for an avatar or when avatar display is disabled in the WebMail.Online settings.
The letters are selected as follows:
- The name consists of two words — the first letters of each word are used.
- The name consists of a single word — the first letter of the word is used.
- The name is not specified — the first letter of the email is used.
The color scheme is selected based on the email. There are a total of 20 schemes for each theme.
