4.3.3.2 Configuring the Thunderbird e-mail client

  1. Click «Create → Set up my mail account…» in the main menu:
  2. Fill in the fields and click «Configure manually»:
    • «Your full name» — your name in any form.
    • «Email address» — mailbox name. Attention! If the domain name contains symbols of the national alphabet, for example, Cyrillic, the name of the box must be convert to Punycode.
    • «Password» — mailbox password.
    • «Remember password» — enable if you do not want to enter a password each time you connect to the server.
  3. Specify settings and click «Retest», and then «Done»:
    In order not to enter the settings manually each time, you can use autoconfiguration.
    • Incoming mail server:
      • «Protocol» — «IMAP».
      • «Server name» — mail.adm.tools.
      • «Port» — 993.
      • «Connection protection» — «SSL/TLS».
      • «Authentication method» — «Regular password».
      • «Username» — complete mailbox name or part of it before @.
    • Outgoing mail server:
      • «Server name» — mail.adm.tools.
      • «Port» — 465.
      • «Connection protection» — «SSL/TLS».
      • «Authentication method» — «Regular password».
      • «Username» — complete mailbox name or part of it before @.
  4. Right-click on the added account in the main window and select «Options»:
  5. Click «More…» in section «Server parameters»:
  6. Pleaseindicate INBOX. (with a dot) in the field «IMAP server directory» and press «OK»:
  7. Restart Thunderbird and test your mail.
