2.18.3. Outgoing connections

Attention!

All outgoing connections are automatically blocked when malware is detected by our antivirus. In order to unblock, you need to resolve the antivirus remarks and run a second scan. If no threats are detected, the blocking will be removed automatically. Outgoing connections cannot be unblocked without removing the malicious code.

Notes:

  • When sending a request to an address that has both IPv4 and IPv6, the connection will be made over IPv6, as it is higher priority than IPv4.
  • UDP traffic is blocked and cannot be unblocked.

Outgoing connections are connections of hosted sites to third-party servers in the process of their work. You can view information about outgoing connections in the "Outgoing connections" section.

Notes:

  • Statistics are available for 4 days — current and 3 previous days.
  • Only the dates for which outgoing connections were logged are displayed in the list. Dates for which there were no such connections will not appear in the list.

At the top of the section, you can select the desired date for analysis from the list and filter connections by IP address:

The list of all logged outgoing connections looks like this:

  • IP — address to which the request was made, its PTR record and brief information about its owner.
  • Protocol — protocol that was used to make the connection.
  • Port — port to which the request was made.
  • Action — connection status:
    • ACCEPT — connection attempt was allowed.
      • ⚠️ This status does not mean that the third-party resource has accepted the connection, let alone that it has responded with the correct code and provided the necessary data.
    • REJECT — connection attempt was rejected (denied).
  • Number of connections — number of connections to the specified address on the mentioned port for the selected date.
  • 🔒 — block or unblock connections to the specified IP address (add or remove the address from blocked connections).

The bottom of the page displays charts with the number of logged outgoing connections by day for all days for which data is available.

By default, outgoing connections use the direct IP address of the server currently hosting the account. If you have ordered a dedicated IP, you can use it for outgoing connections instead of the direct IP address.

To configure the IP address, use the "Outgoing IP" button:

The button itself displays the currently used IP address.

Outgoing connections for a hosting account can be blocked manually, either individually or entirely.

To manually block outgoing connections to a specific IP address on a specific port and protocol, use the "Block IP" button.

All manually blocked connections are listed in the "Blocked outgoing connections" block:

  • IP — blocked address, its PTR record and brief information about its owner.
  • Protocol — protocol by which connections are blocked.
  • Port — port to which connections are blocked.
  • Notes — the "Add note" button allows you to add an arbitrary note to each blocked connection for convenience.
  • 🔓 — unblock connections to the specified IP (you can also unblock connections by checking the required entries and clicking "Delete rules").
Disabling the blocking of all outgoing connections does not affect the settings for blocking individual connections.

To manually block all outgoing connections, use the "Block all outgoing connections" button:
