2.19.2.10.11. Setting up the Betterbird mail client

Betterbird — free mail client for devices with operating system Windows, macOS and Linux, a fork of the mail client Thunderbird. Possesses more opportunitiesthan the original Thunderbird.
  1. From the main menu, press «New → Existing Mail Account»:
  2. Fill in the fields and click «Configure manually»:
    • «Your full name» - your name in free form.
    • «Email address» — mailbox name. Attention! If the domain name contains symbols of the national alphabet, for example, Cyrillic, the name of the box must be convert to Punycode.
    • «Password» — mailbox password.
    • «Remember password» — enable if you do not want to enter a password each time you connect to the server.
  3. Specify settings and click «Re-test», and then «Done»:
    • Incoming mail server:
      • «Protocol» — «IMAP».
      • «Hostname» — mail.adm.tools.
      • «Port» — 993.
      • «Connection security» — «SSL/TLS».
      • «Authentication method» — «Normal password».
      • «Username» - complete mailbox name or part of it before @.
    • Outgoing mail server:
      • «Hostname» — mail.adm.tools.
      • «Port» — 465.
      • «Connection security» — «SSL/TLS».
      • «Authentication method» — «Normal password».
      • «Username» - complete mailbox name or part of it before @.
  4. In the main window, in the list of folders, select the added account and click «Account Settings»:
  5. In chapter «Server Settings» click «Advanced»:
  6. in field «IMAP server directory» indicate INBOX. (with a dot) and press «OK»:
  7. Restart Betterbird and check your mail.
