2.4.2.6. Transfer site from main domain to subdomain

To transfer a site from the main domain to a subdomain within the same hosting account:

  1. If the target subdomain has not yet been added to the "My sites" section, add it.
  2. In the site settings and PHP settings of the subdomain, set the same settings as those set for the main domain.
  3. Using the file manager, clear the contents of the directory of the subdomain and move all the contents of the main domain directory into it (or simply rename the subdomain and main domain directories, swapping their places) .
  4. If the site is linked to a domain address, replace the main domain address with the subdomain address and adjust the paths in the site's configuration files and/or database (instructions: WordPress, OpenCart, PrestaShop).

Since the transfer is performed within a single hosting account, there is no need to transfer the database or change the connection settings.
