2.2.11. Divide sites by hosting accounts

The question often arises whether to host several sites on one hosting account or on several. It is worth noting that working with multiple hosting accounts in the control panel is very convenient — there is no need to enter a login and password for each hosting account, switching between them is done within the account.

  • More resources for each site — for example, when hosting sites on different shared hosting accounts, each will have its own limit of 100 CPU minutes.
  • Enhanced security — all hosting accounts are securely isolated from each other, so if one site has a vulnerability, the other site will not be infected with a virus.
  • More inodes — 200,000 or more inodes are available in each hosting account.
  • Higher stability — if one of the sites uses all the disk space, it will not affect the operation of the other site.
  • Higher reliability — if hosting accounts are located on different servers, the failure of one server will not cause the failure of other sites.
  • You can delegate access to the site to third-party specialists without the risk of them gaining access to data from your other sites.

Several hosting accounts are more expensive than one.

It is worth placing important or profitable sites on separate hosting accounts. If you have several sites that are not yet operational, are under development, or have low traffic and do not generate profit, you can place them on a single hosting account to save money.
