2.15.1.2.1. Notification about the need to direct the domain to the IP of the hosting account
Upon attempt installations with a free Let's Encrypt certificate, a notification may be displayed about the need to direct the domain to the IP of the hosting account:
The notification means that domain address records are not being served or pointing to the correct IP address. The correct direction of the domain is a prerequisite for obtaining the certificate.
Possible reasons
Domain status
The domain is not registered, not paid, or not active.
Solution:
- Depending on the situation:
- Register domain (if not registered).
- Renew domain (if not renewed).
- Find out from the current registrar the reasons for the inoperability of the domain and eliminate them (if registered and paid for, but not active).
- Check domain settings and make sure it is correct directed to a hosting account.
- Wait for the DNS cache to update (1-24 hours).
Domain settings
The domain is not directed to the hosting account or is not directed correctly.
Solution:
- Check domain settings and make sure it is correct directed to a hosting account:
- In case of installation certificate for domain or subdomain check the following points:
- If the domain is served on our NS, then check its settings and make changes to them need in domain settings.
- If the domain is served on third-party NS, then the changes need to be made not in our panel, but in the panel of the owner of these NS. To direct a domain to our hosting, you can use instruction.
- In case of installation wildcardcertificate:
- Either the domain should be served on our NS.
- Either in site settings should be disabled processing requests to non-existent subdomains, as well as when submitting a request for installing a certificate, the item
