3.1.4.1. Referral to our hosting for a domain not registered with us

We recommend hosting a domain on our NS, so that in case of a change IP address web server, it was automatically changed and in domain settings... In this case, the change of IP will take place imperceptibly and without downtime in the work of sites.

When using this method:

  • After installation our NS changing domain records will be done via our Control Panel... Domain settings from the previous NS owner panel will stop working.
  • In case of changing the hosting IP-address (for example, in case of technical need or when migrations hosting account) domain settings will be changed automatically... You do not need to make manual changes.
  • Domain renewal will be done in current registrar, as earlier.
  1. Add domain in our control panel.
  2. In the control panel of the current registrar, set the domain our NS.
    • If the registrar has only two fields for specifying NS, indicate any two of our NS.
    • There is no need to specify the IP addresses of our NS in the panel of the current domain registrar, leave these fields empty.
    • If the registrar does not allow changing NS without specifying the IP, then first of all make sure that you are making changes in the correct section. If the section is correct and the IP addresses are really necessary, you can find out them yourself — for this, you just need to run the command ping to each of the NS.
  3. If domain mailboxes should be hosted not with us, but on servers of a third-party mail service, in the domain settings set MX records of this service. The host / server names should be checked with the mail service provider.
  4. Wait for the update DNS cache... This usually takes several hours (maximum 24).

Attention!

It is not recommended to use this method, as in this case a number of advantages of cloud hosting will be unavailable and we cannot guarantee the site’s performance.

When using this method:

  • Changes to domain settings are performed in the owner panel of the current NS. Domain settings from our panel will not affect the operation of the domain.
  • In case of changing the hosting IP-address (for example, in case of technical need or when migrations hosting account) you will need manually make changes to domain settings.
  • Domain renewal will be done in current registrar, as earlier.
  1. In our control panel, copy current IP addresses hosting account that hosts the site.
  2. Go to the owner panel current NS.
  3. In the domain settings, specify the copied IP addresses in the address records for subdomains @ and www (in records like A you need to specify the IPv4 address, in records like AAAA — IPv6 address).
  4. If domain mailboxes are to be hosted by us, also specify our MX records.
  5. Wait for the update DNS cache... This usually takes several hours (maximum 24).
