3.1.4.4. Point subdomain to third-party hosting

Attention!

The domain whose subdomain needs to be pointed to third-party hosting must be served on our NS. If third-party NS are used, changes must be made via the control panel of the owner of these NS — the settings specified in our panel will not work in this case.
  1. In the third-party hosting support, find out the IP address to which the subdomain should be pointed.
  2. Open the "Domain settings (DNS)" section.
  3. If the domain settings already contain records of type A, AAAA or CNAME for the subdomain being pointed, delete them.
  4. Add new record with the following data:
    • "Subdomain" — name of the subdomain being pointed to (without the name of the domain itself).
    • "Type" — record type:
      • "A" — if the IP address is in IPv4 format (four numbers separated by dots).
      • "AAAA" — if the IP address is in IPv6 format (several groups of numbers and letters separated by colons).
    • "Data" — IP address from which the subdomain should be opened.
  5. Wait for the DNS cache to refresh (usually a few hours, maximum 24).
