3.18. WHOIS

WHOIS — a protocol that allows you to obtain information about a domain, for example:

  • Data on the current domain registrar.
  • Current status of the domain.
  • The date and term of domain registration.
  • Current NS where the domain is hosted.
  • The date of the last change in the domain status or its NS (changes to the domain settings are not considered).

How to check a domain in WHOIS

  1. Open WHOIS.
  2. Enter the name of the domain of interest.
  3. Press 🔎 or Enter.
