3.1.16. TTL

The TTL (Time To Live) parameter determines the storage time DNS-records in DNS system cache... Used to reduce the load on DNS-servers by reducing the number of requests to them, however, at large values, it increases the time for changes to take effect. domain settings (DNS-servers can send old data from the cache until it is updated). Simply put, the larger the TTL, the less the load on DNS-server, but changes in the domain settings take longer to take effect.

Unlike other domain name registrars, we set a very short TTL of 15 minutes. This increases the load on DNS-server, since users are more likely to request data from them, but allows faster changes to the domain name. Changes do not mean creation a new recording that occurs within a few minutes, namely thechange (for example, changing the IP-address of the site). For most domain registrars, this parameter is 8 hours. Our client has to wait no more than 15-30 minutes for the changes to take effect.

For sites with less than a million requests per day, it makes sense to edit the TTL only downward. We set this parameter to the minimum by default, so there is no point in making changes to it.
