2.14.2.8. Configure Memcached in Joomla!

  1. Open the site admin panel.
  2. Go to "System → Global Configuration".
  3. Switch to the "System" tab.
  4. In the "Cache Settings" section:
    1. Next to "Cache Handler", select "Memcached (Experimental)".
    2. Make sure that the switch next to "Persistent Memcache(d)" is set to "Yes".
    3. In the "Memcache(d) Server Host" field, specify /home/example/.system/memcache/socket, substituting example with the name of the hosting account where the site is hosted.
    4. Make sure that port 11211 is specified in the "Memcache(d) Server Port" field.
  5. Save the changes by clicking "Save" or "Save & Close" in the upper-left corner of the page.
  6. Check the site operation.
