2.13.2.8. Setting up Memcached in Joomla!

  1. Openup Adminpanel site.
  2. Go to section "System → General settings" ("System → Global Configuration").
  3. Switch to tab "System" ("System").
  4. In the section "Cache Settings":
    1. Against "Cache Handler" choose "Memcached (Experimental)".
    2. Make sure the switch is opposite "Persistent Memcache(d)" set to position "Yes".
    3. In field "Memcache(d) Server Host" indicate /home/example/.system/memcache/socketsubstituting instead example title hosting account that hosts the site.
    4. Make sure in the box "Memcache(d) Server Port" port specified 11211.
  5. Save changes by clicking "Save" ("Save") or "Save and close" ("Save & Close") in the upper left corner of the page.
  6. Check the site is working.
