2.6.1.1.5. Restricting access to MySQL

MySQL access restriction is not available on businesshosting due to the peculiarities of the implementation of this service.

MySQL security is managed in the section «Databases»... Security settings allow you to restrict access to databases hosting account using phpMyAdmin and through external connections. Access from the sites of the same hosting account is not limited. Changes take effect instantly.

Important points:

  • Only single IP addresses can be specified. Subnets cannot be specified.
  • You cannot add LAN IP addresses (start with 192.168.*.*, 10.*.*.*, 172.16.*.*, 127.*.*.*). To determine your external IP address, use tool.
  1. Open the section «Databases».
  2. At the bottom of the page, click «Add IP to the list of allowed».
  3. Enter the required IP addresses (each on a new line) and click «Save»:

  2. At the bottom of the page, in the list of allowed addresses, click ❌ in the line with the IP to be removed:

Attention!

When access restriction is enabled, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers and Views may stop working. Therefore, we do not recommend enabling access restriction when there are stored procedures or functions.
  1. Open the section «Databases».
  2. At the bottom of the page, click «IP restriction disabled / enabled».
